This sculpture was originally carved from a piece of white alabaster. The stone was alive with energy and I could see many figures inside. I carved out the most dominant figures and landscape. A bronze stand was created with a hollow back so light could shine through the piece. I then made a rubber mold of it and created a wax relief, changing the figure in the rear from a masculine-looking figure to a more feminine one, as my vision had meantime changed. The stand design was changed to one more suitable for a bronze.
